Mayor of Paralimni is Theodoros Pyrillis. He was born in the city on 19 June 1964. He graduated from Paralimni High School in 1982. After that, he served in the National Guard's Artillery regiment as a Lieutenant.
After completing his military service, he studied at the Cyprus Higher Hotel Institute, where he graduated in 1988, obtaining two diplomas. Then he continued his studies for a year in Germany.
In 1989 Pyrilis returned to Cyprus and worked for 3 years as a Hotel Manager. In 1993, he created “Bagno Designs”, which owns the largest market share in the sanitary ware sector in Famagusta. Since 1999, the company's sales have expanded throughout Cyprus, turning the company into one of the pioneers in its field across Cyprus. He is married and has one son.
In 2003-2006 Pyrilis was a Paralimni City Councilor. Between 2007 and 2011 he served as Chairman of the Paralimni Local Democratic Alarm Committee, a member of the Famagusta Democratic Alarm District Secretariat as well as as a Member of the Democratic Bureau of Political Affairs.
In 2011, Pyrilis was elected mayor of Paralimni. In December 2016, he was re-elected for the 2017-2022 term.
