Mayor of Acharnes is Spyros Vrettos. He was born on 18 June 1976 in Acharnes. He graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Vrettos was elected for the first time as a City Councilor in the 2010 Municipal Elections. In the first two years he served as President of the newly established Secondary School Committee. In January 2013 he was appointed Vice Mayor of Finance where he remained for ten months. In June 2019 Vrettos was elected Mayor of Acharnes.
