Mr. Raul Castro was on the board of the directors at the Batalha Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association, the Leiria Sports Union, the Leiria Sports Center, the Leiria Basketball Club and the National School. He developed his career in the General Directorate of Taxes, being the director of the 2nd Finance Directorate of Lisbon, and in the local administration, as president of the Municipality of Batalha, councilor of the Municipality of Leiria and currently as mayor of the same since 2009.
