Florin Tiberiu Iacob Ridzi is Mayor of Petroșani. He was born on 18 February 1971.
He graduated from the Faculty of Legal Sciences in Alba Iulia. He has defended his Ph.D. in Engineering Science. He did his Master studies in Mining Machines and Modern Technical Equipment at Petroșani University and in Public Administration at Vasile Goldiș University, Arad.
Ridzi worked as an engineer at Livezeni Mining Exploitation between 1998 and 2001. He was a local councilor in the Petroșani Local Council during the 2000-2004 mandate and served as a deputy mayor from 2004 until 2007.
Florin-Tiberiu Iacob Ridzi was elected Mayor of Petroșani Municipality in 2007 and he has been successfully running the City Hall ever since. In 2017 he also became the spokesman of the Managing Committee of the Association of Municipalities of Romania. On 27 September 2020, Florin Tiberiu Iacob Ridzi was re-elected mayor of Petroșani.
