The Irish city of Limerick will be making conscientious efforts to attract students to its city centre, announce from the local authority. The city centre will be promoted as the perfect place to mingle with local students through a new marketing campaign launched by the Marketing & Communications Department of Limerick City and County Council.
The campaign addresses the 24,000 persons starting a new academic year at the local Higher education institutions, namely the University of Limerick, Limerick Institute of Technology, Mary Immaculate College, LIT Limerick School of Art and Design, Griffith College, Limerick College of Further Education and Central College Limerick. In addition, there will be thousands of international students to visit the institutions as well. The city belives that all of them would miss a lot were they to remain only within the university campuses.
There are several highlights from this campaign: a student map will be giving hints on the top student spots and bites when on a budget; a special guide will uncover the top selfie spots in the centre, transport guides, giveaways and other tailored content off and online will be prepared for the newcomers.
The campaign has been worked on based on the feedback received by existing students on their needs and the issues experienced by them. Its objectives: to capitalize on the vibrancy and energy of students and to mobilise it into the heart of the Irish city. Last but not least, to further popularise and develop the learning section on the municipal website.
