A new edition of Active-Self-government programme launched in Gdinya. The main objective of the programme is the removal or reduction of barriers restricting the participation of people with disabilities in social life, professional life and access to education. For several years, it has been supporting the residents of the Polish city owning a disability certificate. In this year's edition, PLN 346,000 and one-off funding, depending on the type and scope of support, will be available.
The help that persons with disabilities can receive thanks to the programme is in general individual, but there is a variety of opportunities. They go from trainings and courses, to co-financing for a driving license or operating specific electronic equipment. People with physical disabilities can apply for co-financing for the purchase of an electric scooter, electrical equipment, etc.
The local authorities call on anyone who has questions to contact the team of Piotr Harhaj, from MOPS Disabled People's Team so that they can get comprehensive information and the necessary help when applying for support from the "Active Self-government" program. Application forms are available at the headquarters of the MOPS Gdynia People with Disabilities Team and at the website www.mopsgdynia.pl in the "Active self-government" tab. The deadline for submission of applications is 30 August 2019.
