The Hungarian city of Szeged is getting prepared for the start of the Christmas Eve celebrations on 23rd of November with two huge throws: a giant wheel set up on Széchenyi square and an ice rink on the Dóme square. The Széchenyi Square giant wheel will be close to 40 meters tall and will have 144 seats. Upon reaching the peak, you could admire the city floating in decorative lighting and festive mood. On the Dóme square, on the outdoor skating rink, children from Szeged can skate for free every weekday after 2pm.

Traditionally, between 23rd of November and 23rd of December, the Advent week hosts three events. Apart from the giant wheel, on Széchenyi Square you can also enjoy unforgettable gastronomy picks and classical Christmas gifts; At Dome Square look for the local craftsmen and enjoy the Christmas candle lights. Finally, on Dugonics Square you can take an adventurous break and taste various gastronomic surprises prepared by locals.
