The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, will be taking part yet again in the tradition of answering questions posed by the public. The State of London Debate takes place every year and is the perfect spot and time to grill the mayor of the UK’s capital. Citizens can get their tickets to the event for free at the London local government’s website and take part in this wonderful exercise of democracy. The event will be hosted by LBC’s James O’Brien and will take place on 27 June at Indigo at The O2, Peninsula Square.

Citizens will be able to ask the mayor questions on specific aspects of the work he’s doing for the city – the environment, security and policing, the local economy, transport and housing. The municipality is specifically highlighting the work the local government has been doing regarding the issues of building affordable housing and maintaining a safe living environment.

Due to the physical constraints of the venue, the tickets will be distributed at a first come first served basis. Past years, due to the immense popularity of the State of London Debate, tickets were booked at an extremely rapid pace. If you don’t manage to secure yourself the spot, or prefer to keep up with the conversation from a distance, you can always use the event’s hashtag - #SpeaktoSadiq

You can find more information on the debate on London’s website.
