Several of the Romanian capital of Bucharest's top hotels have already pledged their support to local initiatives aimed at helping the city's hospitals. United in the emergency situation they are aiding the frontline medical personnel in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The top five-star hotel “Radisson Blu”, for example, has made a donation of 1,200 pieces of bed linen to the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital and Emergency Clinical Hospital Sf. Ioan informed Romania-insider. Up until now, the hotel had already donated 1,000 protective masks, 1,000 pieces of bed linen, disinfection and hygiene products to the Dr. Ion Cantacuzino Clinical Hospital.
To deliver more than 8,000 warm meals for doctors
The same hotel has also supported the initiative #dinGRIJA and starting this week it will be preparing 280 hot meals for the medical staff at the Colentina Clinical Hospital in Bucharest. The humanitarian project is managed by the local restaurant guide Gault & Millau Romania in partnership with Carrefour, EY Romania, Microgreens Romania and Biodeck.
Another generous top hotel in Bucharest taking action in the ongoing crisis is JW Marriott. It also has joined the initiative for free meals that was launched by Gault & Millau.
Dozens of other hotels and 20 restaurants situated in Bucharest have also joined the project. The aim of the initiative is to deliver more than 8,000 warm meals to the staff at Colentina Hospital in Bucharest over the course of next month. #dinGRIJA is a step made out of the desire to come to the aid of the medical teams of doctors, nurses and support staff, who take care of patients diagnosed with Covid-19.
We should note the noble supportive actions provided by hotels and restaurants come at a time when they are not working and find themselves in a difficult economical situation. For similar good examples and practices, you can check out and follow the "Welfare" section on our website.
