Interreg Danube – the third call for proposals is now open

This European programme is a wonderful opportunity for local administrations in the Danube area to realize international projects

New call for project proposals has been opened under the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme. Interreg is one of the key instruments of the European Union instruments to support cross-border cooperation. Its aim is to help partners tackle jointly common challenges and find shared solutions in fields such as health, environment, research, education, transport, sustainable energy and more. Danube in particular, promotes economic, social and territorial cohesion in the Danube Region through policy integration in selected fields with 274 578 077 euro totally, among which 42 653 480,00 by national budgets of the participating countries.

The Danube Transnational Programme (DTP) covers Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany - Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and 5 non-EU countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine - four provinces: Chernivetska Oblast, Ivano-Frankiviska Oblast, Zakarpatska Oblast and Odessa Oblast), which corresponds to the territory addressed by EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). Up to EUR 50,910,917.75 of ERDF, EUR 3,300,163.83 of IPA and EUR 5,134,221.15 of ENI are allocated to this call.

The Third call for proposals under DTP is open under Specific Objectives 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 3.2 and 4.1 and restricted to some topics for the other SOs according to this table. Among the key principles of this programme are the clearly identifiable Transnational focus of projects, the durability and transferability of results, the integrated territorial approach and others.

Eligible applicants are:

  • Local, regional, national public bodies/ bodies governed by public law officially registered in the Programme Area (including EGTCs in the meaning of Article 2(16) of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 registered in one country the programme area)
  • International organisations
  • Private bodies (including private enterprises registered in a EU Member State of the programme area)
