On Wednesday, 29 May, an important step of the construction of Estonia’s most modern kindergarten was unveiled – a nursery swimming pool, to service the children in the future establishment. According to the mayor of Pärnu, Romek Kosenkranius, the new kindergarten will house “Custom-made furniture, different playgrounds, small and large sledges, a stadium, swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a music and gym hall, galleries, roof panels on the roof and many other exciting thing that make it one of Estonia’s most modern kindergartens,”. Thanks to the addition of the state-of-the-art swimming pool, the mayor hopes the city will manage to better prepare its swimming athletes and score higher in competitions.
The total price of the project is 10.6 million euros. Around 4 million euros are financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the rest is being paid by the City of Pärnu and Municipalities of Tori and Häädemeeste.
Construction efforts are expected to be completed by June 2020. The whole initiative is a part of a larger-scale project that involves the renovation of kindergartens in the region. Up next are the Tralli and Tammsaare kindergartens.
You can find more information about the project over at the municipality’s website.
