In March 2019, Pomorie Municipality was approved for participation in the European WiFi4EU Initiative, which gives local residents free access to high-quality internet for at least three years. The network has already been configured, with Wi-Fi equipment installed in four public places where there were no hotspot access points, Pomorie Municipality reported.
The residents and guests of the Bulgarian town of Pomorie can take advantage of the new service by visiting the following locations: the town center, the Museum of History - Pomorie and the pedestrian zone in the downtown. Free Wi-Fi is also available at the hospital of Pomorie. The name of the network people should be looking for is WiFi4EU.
As TheMayor.eu has informed readers many times before, the main goal of the European initiative WiFi4EU is not only to connect people but to also support the cultural and historical exchange of information. This way, all registered municipalities in the platform will become part of a community and will be associated with the other participants in the large-scale project. The longer-term goal of the EU is to improve services such as eGovernment, eHealth, online banking and video calling.
