A special Santa Claus arrival has turned into a tradition of the Polish city of Lubin. Every year St Nicolas arrives riding the two-wheeled machine. As usual, this year a whole group of them will bring joy to the local residents, in support for the Alzheimer's Center in Ścinawa through the organization of collection of goods for them.
This year, the moto tour will take place on Sunday, 9 December leaving from the square under the Manufaktura Gyn at Konstytucji 3 Maja to Lubin market. The market will turn into festive facility, explains Krzysztof Lubczyk, responsible for the organization of the “Moto-Mykolaiv” ride this year. Leaving at 14:30, passing through the centre, Przylesie and Ustronie, the ride will finish at the market around 15:00.
The city hall visitors will be able to talk to Santa, try their helmets or take a picture with them. Drivers can see motorcyclists dressed in red doublets and hats trumpet, children riding in cars gluing their faces to the windows, waving and laughing. Last year, 72 machines took part in this extraordinary ride. So far, organizers have received confirmation for 20 machines, but there will sure be last minute appearances, provided that the weather will not be icy.
Anyone willing to join the collection and offer a donation can now bring Christmas gifts to the Motoklan store at 7 Ścinawska Street in Lubin. The items needed for the for the Alzheimer's Centre are: shirts, sweatpants, underwear, pens, pencils, blocks, colour paper, self-adhesive cut-outs, tissue paper, glitter, sequins, Christmas tree decorations, including lights, puzzle pieces, memory exercises, the book "Mind training", cleaning products like shower gels, shampoos, sponges, moisturizing wipes, antiperspirants and air fresheners.
