It’s been years since Sofia Municipality first began considering the construction of the Bulgarian capital’s brand-new state-of-the-art Water Park “Vazrazhdane”. Hindered by numerous legal battles and disputes over the land it is situated on and after years of hard labour, local authorities have finally announced that the venue will welcome its first visitors on Monday 27 July.

Summer relief amid rising temperatures

Earlier today Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova paid a visit to the facility to inspect the numerous installations and discuss the upcoming opening with members of the Water Park’s staff and management as well as to make sure that the safety and health of all visitors will be prioritized.

The venue itself boasts a total of five outdoor pools, eight slides and a single indoor pool that has been available for use since mid-June. The latter has already been visited by over 1,500 citizens who have also purchased some 150 subscriptions for the regular use of the Park’s services.

Now, following the official opening on the 27th, Water Park “Vazrazhdane” will be able to welcome all citizens and visitors of the Bulgarian capital who are on the lookout for a breath of fresh air and a cooler experience during the summer months.

The venue might prove especially popular this year not only because its brand-new but also because citizens of the Bulgarian capital might prove less eager to travel long distances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The venue’s management has, of course, announced that they will be adhering to and enforcing all the mandated and necessary epidemiological and hygienic measures as mandated by the relevant authorities, including the regular disinfection of the water park’s grounds.
