Tallinn, first mentioned in 1219, received city rights in 1248, but the earliest human settlements date back 5000 years. Tallinn is the major political, financial, cultural and educational center of Estonia. Often dubbed the Silicon Valley of Europe, it has the highest number of startups per person in Europe and is a birthplace of many international companies.

The City Day of Tallinn, first held in 2002, has grown in scope ever since. The City Day of Tallinn was initiated to value the history of the city and being the citizen of Tallinn, as well as to introduce the present and the past of Estonian capital among them and abroad. Tallinn Day is a day full of cultural and fun activities.
