Inspired by Europe’s smart cities, Valencia began its transformation in 2012. Tools like "AppValencia"give a quick and easy opportunity to the citizens to receive real time information on buses and bikes, alerts about the city, and even pay bills online. The platform, integrates the information collected from various services. The private sector can develop apps and solutions that the city can benefit from, and help generate profit.
Another good example of smart transformation and change of the city is the traffic management control centre. It transmits real time what is happening on the major roads of the city. With the control of traffic lights, it is possible to change the frequency to facilitate emergencies, for example, or to avoid traffic jams.
