We all agree that culture is fundamental to our development as human beings, to shaping our values and understanding of the world. Therefore, no one should be deprived of access to cultural experience, let alone young people. However, we also know how expensive it can be to purchase a concert ticket, to pay for library subscription or to reserve a place for a theatre play.

Luckily, this is no longer the case in the Spanish region of Extremadura: thanks to a project by the Ministry of Culture and Equality young people will be able to purchase thousands of tickets for as little as 2 euro. Consuma Cultura thus aims to facilitate youth access to events or cultural products at significantly reduced prices.

How it works? The holders of European Youth Card (EYC) shall look for the associated cultural places labeled with this indicative sign:

Upon presentation of the youth card, young visitors can execute the purchase at preferential prices. However, it should be taken into consideration that the offer is limited: each show or a product have a limited percentage of purchases or entrees eligible for discount and the offer is limited per two shows to each EYC holder.

More information on the participating institutions and the programme of expositions, concerts, theatre plays, dances and a list of participating libraries can be found here.
