Croatian Railways will refund you if your train is more than an hour late

Croatian Railways has already implemented new guideline rules - if your train is more than one hour late, you are entitled to a partial refund or travel voucher.
Passengers using Croatian Railways can make use of a partial refund if they are faced with a 60 to 119-minute delay. They will be paid an amount totalling 25% of the ticket price within a month following the submission of a refund application.
According to the official website of HZ Passenger Transport, passengers have two options, to receive a partial refund or to choose a travel voucher of equal value.
To receive a partial refund or a travel voucher
The Statute of the European Parliament and Council on rail passengers' rights and obligations is already in effect, since 4 December 2019. According to the new law, passengers are entitled to a partial refund for a delay of 60 to 119 minutes, which is equivalent to 25% of the ticket price. Travellers are entitled to a 50% refund for delays longer than two hours.
To be able to receive your partial refund or voucher, passengers must submit their original ticket, certified by a train attendant or cashier, and send both the request and the certified ticket by post to the company (HŽ Putnički prijevoz in the case of Croatia), located in Zagreb.
The refund payment does not apply to subsidized tickets or to those sold by other railway ticket vendors or tickets of railway workers on their business trips. The refund for the delay will be paid to the passenger within one month following the submission of the application. HZ Passenger Transport will not pay a refund of less than 4 euros at the current HRK conversion rate.
