The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) has launched a mobile app to facilitate and communicate with citizens. The app provides real-time updates regarding news, activities, and views depending on the user's preferences.
Additionally, users would be able to bookmark or make "favourite" their most frequently used items, making it possible to access them from anywhere on the internet. Content can be posted at any time, including between meetings, on social networking platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, and other channels.
Users will find information and the membership lists for all CoR's political groups and committee Chairs – including the CoR President, first Vice-President, Political Group Presidents and the Commission Chairs. They can also find out what regions they represent and read all the ways with which they have influenced EU decision-making.
Additionally, users will have the opportunity to explore which region each Member State delegates come from and how their individual opinions influence EU decisions. Meetings can be easily downloaded to the calendars of mobile phones.
For CoR members, representatives, delegations, and all other stakeholders, the map function is especially appealing. Buildings that are related to the CoR activities can be found on a virtual map and through a list that includes a picture and an address.
Event photos, links to Commissions, political groups websites and a link to the Members' Portal are also available. The app is user-friendly and allows citizens to get first-hand information on regional and local levels.
Citizens can get the app on both iOS and Android software.
