District councils, businesses and citizen groups can submit proposals until 30 November
Limassol Municipality has announced that it will subsidize, for the first time ever, the decoration of the parks in the neighbourhoods of the Cypriot city for Christmas. Grants of EUR 300 will be given to district councils, businesses and citizen groups to re-imagine their neighbourhood parks for the festive season.
The initiative aims at “bringing the spirit of Christmas closer to the neighbourhoods of Limassol”, according to a statement posted on the municipal website.
The municipality invites all interested parties to submit decoration proposals for their neighbourhood park by filling in a form found on the municipal website and emailing it to culturaldep@limassolmunicipal.com.cy
The deadline for submissions is 30 November. Afterwards, the proposals will go through a selection process “to cover as many of our city’s districts as possible”. The municipality will provide technical and other support, but any electrical equipment that will be used must first be inspected and approved by municipal officials for safety reasons.
