Amsterdam bans creation of new hotels
Another piece in the overall strategy to reduce tourist flows to the city
The initiative was designed at the behest of the city’s mayor Klaus Luger
The city of Linz is now providing an additional service for citizens over 80 who have already registered for a corona vaccination in the New Town Hall and have no other way of getting there themselves. In these cases, the recreational vehicle service of the Arbeiter-Samariterbund can be used for the way to the vaccination. The only prerequisite is that the people registered for the vaccination cannot get there by themselves via public transport or their relatives.
In individual cases, inexpensive ambulance transports are also possible for elderly Linz residents who cannot make the way to the bus or tram stop themselves or who cannot take a taxi or take a ride with relatives due to physical limitations. These trips can be paid for with the existing vouchers from the Arbeiter-Samariterbund at the inner-city transport tariff for the return trip. The additional costs are borne by the social department of the city of Linz.
People who already have a vaccination appointment at the New Town Hall can take advantage of this offer. Due to limited capacities, however, the City of Linz asks citizens to only take advantage of this offer if there truly is no other way to get to the vaccination site. A request can be registered directly with the Arbeiter-Samariterbund on +43 732 2127 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
“The way to the corona vaccination, which is particularly important for the elderly, must not be an obstacle to having to do without it. With this offer, the city of Linz is once again living up to its reputation as a 'model social city' by setting up a quick, uncomplicated solution together with the Arbeiter-Samariterbund. Especially in times of limited vaccines, it is important to make it possible for all people who have an appointment for immunization,” emphasize Mayor Klaus Luger and Deputy Mayor Karin Hörzing.
