No tuition fees in Scotland for EU students after Brexit

Students starting in the fall of 2019 will not have to pay

No tuition fees for higher education in Scotland after Brexit is what the higher education minister Shirley-Anne Somerville announced yesterday. She emphasizes that EU students are welcome in the country. Students starting their university studies in the fall of 2019 will not have to pay tuition fees.

The Scottish government's decision was met with support by university staff and of course prospective students. The minister believes that this move is a 'strong message' to EU students and those who are considering their options for higher education in the European Union can be sure they are welcome to Scotland.
