This will bring a new technological era for Catalonia
The 5GBarcelona initiative was designed to transform the region of Catalonia and the city of Barcelona itself to a center of technological innovation. Catalonia has a top position and the full potential to become a major factor in 5G development on an international level. The region has received funding for 22 out of 37 projects, part of the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program.
5GBarcelona will serve as a technological laboratory and test the new technology. The next phases of the 5G PPP project include a selection of a smaller number of projects which will test the 5G technology. They will be selected by the European Commission.
