Christofis Koroneos

Mayor of Nisyros is Christofis Koroneos. He is a chemical engineer. He did all his studies at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Columbia University in New York, USA, where he later became a professor and began working with the Earth Engineering Center as a Research Associate. He is currently an Associate Professor teaching Renewable Energy and Energy Management at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia in Greece. He also works at the Unit of Environmental Science and Technology of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. He is teaching at the Interdisciplinary Programme of Post Graduate Studies ‘‘Environment & Development’’ of the National Technical University of Athens. His research interests are in Renewable Energy, Exergy Analysis, Life Cycle Assessment and Sustainable Development. He has more than 100 publications in Scientific Journals and more than 230 publications in proceedings of International conferences. He is in the editorial committee of more than 50 scientific journals and is a member of the scientific committees of more than 80 international scientific conferences. He has also taken part in 37 national and international research projects.
