16 départements en France à nouveau confinés, a annoncé jeudi soir le Premier ministre Jean Castex. Pendant une période initiale de quatre semaines à compter du vendredi 19 mars à minuit, tous les commerces non essentiels de ces territoires devront fermer. Les déplacements sont également limités.
Le confinement annoncé par le Premier ministre concerne les départements suivants : Aisne, Alpes-Maritimes, Essonne, Eure, Hauts-de-Seine, Nord, Oise, Paris, Pas-de-Calais, Seine-et -Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Seine-Maritime, Somme, Val-de-Marne, Val-d'Oise, Yvelines.
Dans ces départements, tous les commerces non essentiels (les librairies et les disquaires sont considérés comme essentiels) sont priés de fermer. De plus, quitter son domicile n’est autorisé que dans la limite de 10 kilomètres et, ce, sur présentation d’une attestation. Il n'y a cependant aucune limite à la durée d'un séjour à l'extérieur.
Sans raison valable, les déplacements entre les régions sont interdits. Les préfets sont autorisés à restreindre certains rassemblements publics. Dans ces départements, les écoles élémentaires, les écoles maternelles et les collèges restent ouverts, mais les lycées passent « en demi-jauge ».
En outre, sur l’ensemble du territoire du pays, le couvre-feu demeure, mais commence à 19 heures (au lieu de 18 heures), à compter du samedi 20 mars.
Selon le Premier ministre, cité par Euronews, environ 29% des cas surviennent au travail et la moitié d'entre eux sont causés par des personnes s'y rendant sur leur lieu de travail malgré la présence de symptômes. Il a donc rappelé que le travail à distance reste la norme et a invité la population à travailler à domicile au moins quatre jours sur cinq.
Il a en outre souligné que la situation s'était considérablement aggravée, la variante britannique représentant près des trois quarts de tous les cas. Enfin, pendant ce qui semble être une troisième vague de coronavirus, des personnes plus jeunes et en meilleure santé sont admises en soins intensifs et les séjours à l'hôpital prennent plus de temps qu'auparavant.
