Las autoridades sanitarias catalanas han decidido que, a partir de hoy, 28 de enero, el certificado sanitario Covid dejará de ser necesario para acceder a espacios públicos interiores, como restaurantes, gimnasios y bares. El movimiento se produce a pesar de que la ola Omicron está en pleno apogeo en España, aunque hay indicios de que es posible que ya se haya alcanzado el pico.
Asimismo, las regiones del norte de Asturias y Cantabria también han decidido que seguir imponiendo los pases sanitarios en la sociedad no está marcando ninguna diferencia en cuanto a las tasas de contagio, dada la alta transmisibilidad de la última variante.
El resto de las restantes 17 comunidades autónomas españolas considerarán la situación y decidirán si relajan sus respectivas medidas en los próximos días.
El Gobierno catalán confía en dar este paso porque a pesar de los repentinos índices de contagios, el sistema hospitalario no se ha visto sobrecargado como aseguraban los peores pronósticos. La retirada de las restricciones en la región nororiental, de hecho, comenzó la semana pasada cuando se eliminó el toque de queda nocturno (entre la 1 am y las 6 am).
La variante Omicron, que ha visto dispararse los índices de infección en Cataluña, hace que “una gran parte de la población vuelva a ser susceptible de infectarse, esté o no vacunada o ya haya tenido la enfermedad”, ha dicho un comité de expertos al Gobierno regional, citado por El Local.
“Se reduce la efectividad del uso obligatorio del certificado Covid como un nivel extra de seguridad”, han dicho, dando lugar a la decisión que fue publicada en el boletín del gobierno regional del jueves.
El requisito de mostrar un pasaporte Covid, que estaba en vigor desde finales de noviembre, se eliminará a partir de hoy en esta región de 7,7 millones de habitantes.
Aún así, la desescalada no es total, ya que las discotecas permanecerán cerradas por el momento, a pesar de las críticas por parte de sus dueños de que esto les ha provocado cuantiosas pérdidas económicas.
