La Fondation du Patrimoine est l'organisation en charge de la collecte de dons pour la cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris en cours. À ce jour, près de 20 millions d'euros ont été donnés par des personnes et des organisations du monde entier pour la restauration du monument de renommée mondiale, qui a subi de graves dommages lors d'un incendie majeur la semaine dernière.
Mais quelle est l'origine de la Fondation du Patrimoine ? Comme indiqué sur sa page Web, elle travaille pour la sauvegarde et à la promotion du patrimoine français, qu'il soit grand ou petit. Par le biais de missions publiques et de parrainages d'entreprises, ils soutiennent des individus, des communautés et des associations dans des projets de restauration. Qu'est-ce qui est couvert ? Bien au-delà des monuments classés au patrimoine national et protégés par la loi. L’organisation soutient également le patrimoine rural, religieux et industriel grâce à un réseau bien développé de volontaires et d’acteurs locaux issus des secteurs public et privé. De plus, ils sont le seul organisme privé habilité par le ministère de l'Économie et des Finances à octroyer un label à une opération de restauration. Ils collectent des dons et mobilisent les entreprises pour qu'elles s'impliquent dans la préservation ou la restauration du patrimoine.
Fondée en 1996, l'organisation a soutenu plus de 2500 projets (d'ici 2017) avec des dons supérieurs à 31,5 millions d'euros.
