The ambitious plan is to replace the 2,400 luminaires from different areas of the city by others of LED technology.
Alicante will invest 1.8 million euros in improving the energy efficiency of its public lighting. The plan will extend from the Old Quarter to neighborhoods in the north as Virgen del Remedio, Colonia Requena, to the area of the Central Market and the zone Ensanche-Diputación, among other commercial arteries. The works are currently in the bidding phase and the deadline for execution is 4 months.
