Belgium keep almost all of its streetlights on through the night, because it is good for road safety and security.

Belgium has a dense road network and street lights cover almost all of it. In contrast to neighboring countries, it keeps most of its streetlights on at night, even those along small country roads. Belgium’s roads are lit by 2.2 million bulbs, and with 186 bulbs per square mile.
