Interactive lessons will be mission possible for this university in Burgas, after the XR laboratory opens, Source: Municipality of Burgas
It will be implemented by EON Reality
The American EON Reality, which specializes in augmented and virtual reality solutions, will partner up with "Prof. Dr Asen Zlatarov" University in Burgas, announced the local Municipality last week. As a result, a state-of-the-art EON-XR training and education centre will be created on the university campus - unique in its scale and character for the country.
The XR laboratory, supported by the Municipality of Burgas and the Ministry of Education and Science, will work as part of the University. It will provide access to high-quality digital training materials for over 5,000 students, 750 faculty members and corporate users, as well as access to EON Reality equipment and specialized software over the next 5 years.
The Municipality also notes that the Burgas XR laboratory is the first of its kind and scale in Bulgaria and is focused on the solutions of EON Reality in the form of EON-XR. The latter includes the internal support and architecture needed by large organizations such as universities to quickly and efficiently build, deploy, and scale various XR applications.
According to the company's website, EON-XR aims to remove the barriers that often accompany the implementation of AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) in academic or industrial environments. Through EON-XR, educators, trainers, employers and other users can create interactive lessons without the need for in-depth technological knowledge or coding skills.
EON Reality founder Dan Lejerskar, quoted on the municipal website, expressed his excitement about the project: "I believe that this will not only help the university, but also affect the development of the entire city and region. I hope that this partnership will grow in the coming years to a national level.”
The new and modern XR laboratory is an important step towards the development and establishment of Burgas as a centre of the rapidly developing IT industry.
