Kaufland Sofia Half Marathon is an event that combines races in the three disciplines - 5, 10 and 21.1 kilometers. The main aim of the organizers is to invite and challenge all citizens to active way of life. The distances are suitable for active and keen runners as well as beginners, families, children and students. All the three distances starts and finishes at Alexander Nevsky square. The time that the runners have to pass the finish line is respectively 60, 90 and 180 minutes.
Since 25th of March, there are free open training sessions with certified athletics coach organized once or twice a week. The aim is to help participants overcome the challenge on 13th of May easily. Institutional partners of the events are Sofia Municipality and Sofia – European capital of Sport. The event has also the support of its European partners – European Commission representation in Bulgaria, European Parliament information desk Bulgaria and the Ministry of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2018. The entrance is free.
