Smart Dublin, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, is launching five Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) competitions worth 900k Euros on 26 April. Smart Dublin is an initiative of the four Dublin local authorities to engage with smart technology providers, researchers and citizens to solve challenges and improve city life. Its aim is to position Dublin as a world leader in the development of new urban solutions, using open data, and with the city region as a test bed.
The challenges will seek smart, low cost solutions are the following: Bathing water quality; Smart mobility hubs; Internet of Things; Last mile delivery; and Unheard voices. Successful applicants will be selected by an open competition process. It is open to any organization, developers of ICT and software solution providers, universities, entrepreneurs and service providers. This is an excellent opportunity for small and emerging companies to get involved in demand led projects through the development of innovative solutions and technologies to address future challenges that impact on the quality of peoples’ lives.
