Amsterdam is getting ready to welcome a major festival of water games. From 23 to 25 August 2019, the first edition of the Amsterdam Water Games (Amsterdamse Waterspelen) will take place. A fantastic summer weekend full of special water sports, blood-curdling races, water science, live music, good food and free swimming for young and old are looming on the horizon. There is something in for all swimming enthusiasts, including:

  • X-diving - it is a combination of clean jumping, free-running and trampoline jumping from a high ramp. It is for those who want to push their limits, take on new challenges and show tricks;
  • Water sports program where children between 8 and 16 years old can get acquainted with water sports for free. Under the guidance of professional instructors, they can learn sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, supping and water skiing;
  • Jumping competition where a jury assesses your performance during 2 jumps and gives you the chance to with a cash prize;
  • Demonstrations of historic and modern ships and races with soap boxes on a huge ramp and so much more!

Naturally, the organization also provides a snack and a drink. Visitors buy a one-off cup or bring one from home to have it filled in order to generate less waste.
