Food in Danish stores to be labelled according to its effect on the climate

Stickers will include information on environmental impact

Denmark will label food in its stores with stickers informing the buyer of the impact the item they want to buy has on the environment. This is part of the plan, presented by the Danish government to tackle climate change problems. It was also pointed out that food labels should provide information on how nutritios it actually is, not only its impact, meaning that some items may not have much of an impact on the environment but are also definitely not something people can live on - such as some soft drinks, for example.

Authorities agree that the plan is challenging but also agree on the point that people should be informed about as much as possible on what they buy and consume and what effect their groceries have on the eco system.
