The network of municipal drugstores launches the interactive smartphone tool to bring healthcare into the future
“La farmacia online” (Online Pharmacy) is the name of a new smartphone platform released by the Municipality of Genoa as a way to provide long-lasting convenience to residents when it comes to their healthcare and medical purchase needs. According to officials speaking to the press office of the city, this makes the Ligurian capital the first place in Italy to implement such a public service.
More specifically, the platform unites the work carried out by the nine pharmacies forming part of the Farmacie Genovesi municipal network. The app allows an interactive and fast dialogue between users and pharmacies.
It will be possible to book visits and medical tests, request medicines from one's medical prescriptions and speak directly with the pharmacist for advice on any purchasing need through a video call managed directly from one's smartphone or personal computer.
The general manager of Farmacie Genovesi, Dr. Mark Rissoglio provides more detail: “The main services of the "La Farmacia Online" app are essentially three: the possibility of booking medical visits and medical tests, that of ordering medicines from your medical prescription, then receiving them at home or in the pharmacy and always having them in view in your online medical agenda and, above all, the video consultation with the pharmacist.
In particular, this feature will allow you to activate live video calls with one of our pharmacists directly from your smartphone. It will be like entering the pharmacy, the user will be able to request useful advice and order everything he needs. We want to shorten the distance between pharmacists and families, allowing a continuous and direct dialogue in complete safety, in line with our desire to always be present and ready to listen".
La Farmacia online app is free and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
