The latest expansion of “tim” (täglich intelligent mobil or everyday intelligent vehicle) allows its vehicles to cover the area at the Iron Gate and thus provides citizens with even more opportunities to travel without needing their own personal vehicles – an important step towards achieving any and all climate ambitions laid out by Graz’s government.
Customers interesting in using “tim” at its newest locations will have access to two e-Golfs and two conventional vehicles for car sharing, as well as a rental car that is perfectly linked to the local public transport network. The latest expansion achieved thanks to the EU funding, allocated under the IWB / ERDF 2014-2020 programme will make the service even more convenient as it has allowed for the creation of new nodes around the central Iron Gate Square.
Since its launch in 2016, Graz’s carsharing project has only grown more and more popular as it currently boasts over 2000 regular users. The city’s Mayor Siegfried Nagl admits that "electromobility in urban areas as a topic that has excited me since the first e-mobility congress in Graz in 2010. With this project, we are also making the alternative mobility offer in Graz that is also attractive in the city centre ".

As per the latest data revealed by the municipality, the service has a total of 45,6000 bookings which have accounted for over 800,000 km of travel, saving approximately 128 tons of CO2.
