Hamburg plans to go car-free

Hamburg plans to go car-free

The city develops in favor of pedestrians

The German city is making it easier to walk in the city not to drive. The city government wants to make walking and biking its main way of transport. In the near future, Hamburg will reduce the number of cars by only allowing pedestrians and bikers to enter certain areas.

Urban planners and policy makers have started to work on ways and projects which will make more space for pedestrians. The project aims at creating a green network of spaces that people can use without cars. The network will cover 40% of Hamburg will include parks, playgrounds and sports fields.
