“Mihail Cantacuzino” college, located in the Romanian mountain town and resort of Sinaia, north of Bucharest, will be renovated thanks to a project worth five million euros. The project is managed by the Sinaia City Hall which has already received the EU funding.
The project, called “ZINO – Education from A to Z”, entails the addition of an exhibition venue, a pool and sauna, a conference hall, a dining area, and a library, besides a pedestrian area and parking spaces. Professional and non-formal education courses will also be held as activities under the project.
The project aims to radically change the concept of formal learning in Sinaia. Just some days ago the college "Mihail Cantacuzino" celebrated its 19th anniversary and the good news of the received EU funding can be percieved as a gift .
“The young people of the city will have the school they deserve. A place where they are the center of attention, a place where parents and professors interact, and a creative venue meant to train them for their adult life,” wrote Vlad Oprea, Mayor of Sinaia, in his Facebook profile.
Some months ago the Polytechnic University of Bucharest has received financial support of 25 million euros to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of teaching, learning and research.
The EIB loan will finance the University campus redevelopment plan involving the construction of a new building to accommodate three faculties currently located on the historic Polizu campus.
