The Romanian City Hall of Iași announced that it has selected an offer after organizing a tender for works related to the "Integrated Urban and Social Regeneration Project of the Cicoarei area - Cicoarei Multifunctional Center". The public procurement procedure has a maximum budget provision of 12,554,467 lei, without VAT (2 598 542,41 euros) and attracted the offer of the company Elit Construct SRL from Vaslui.
The European financing contract was signed by Mayor Mihai Chirica on 5 May this year. The total value of the overall investment for the larger project is 16,846,646.85 lei (approximately 3.51 million euros). The financing will be provided through the Regional Operational Program with the specific objective to facilitate the urban regeneration, and economic and social development of marginalized communities in the county seat municipalities of Romania.

The multifunctional center will be built on Sofia Nădejde Street (formerly Cicoarei). The surface of the land studied for the Zonal Urban Plan is 7,700 square meters, of which 15% will represent green spaces. The new construction will have a GF + 4F height regime, with a maximum height of 20 meters from the ground level in the built-up area.
Within the center, spaces will be organized for educational activities dedicated to the development of children and young people living in Cicoarei and neighboring areas. The project provides for the construction of a performance hall with a capacity of 120 seats, a sports arena with over 150 seats in the grandstand, IT and music audition rooms, a library and other facilities.
