It will offer the perfect environment for the creation of movies, TV shows and commercials
Leeds City Council has announced that the city’s newest and most ambitious art production facility will open its doors in May 2020. Leeds Studios is the result of the collaboration between the Leeds City Council, All Studios and the Leeds-based Prime Studios. All Studios have embarked on a journey to deliver similar enterprises across the country and are already operating a similar venture in Manchester – Manchester Studios.
The announcement for the completion and the May 2020 unveiling come just a few short months after the Leeds City Council announced that the local government is currently holding talks for the securing of a loan and the space needs for the development of the enterprise.
Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council is convinced that Leeds Studios will not only offer an opportunity for the city to develop its artistic side but will also lead to significant economic growth. “Bringing a state of the art studio to the city and now starting to see what will be brought to life ahead of the opening next year is hugely exciting. Not only is this development a real boost for the creative and TV sectors in Leeds, but the benefits will be seen for our local economy as we open new avenues for companies to come and work in the city whilst also bringing in new jobs,” she stated.
