Earlier last week the Municipality of Limassol launched a continuous cleaning campaign of the city presenting, at a press conference in the area of Aerial, the new equipment (manual and motorized) with which the Cleaning Department has been strengthened as part of the new initiative.
The campaign will see not only the clean-up of the entire city but will also allow for the maintaining of the high cleanliness standards that have been set by local authorities.
During the presentation, the mayor of Limassol, Nicos Nicolaidis, pointed out that with this campaign, which bears the slogan "We all take care together for the cleanliness of the city we love", the Municipality of Limassol aims to substantially improve the urban environment by intensifying and strengthening the municipal hygiene machine.
A key element of the campaign, he stressed, is the activation and cooperation with the citizens, who are called to actively contribute to the cleanliness of their neighbourhood and city. As Nicos Nicolaidis explained, the ongoing "Clean Limassol" campaign consists of a series of parallel actions, including:
The campaign has been launched with the staunch support of several civic organisations that will also be contributing to the efforts of making and keeping Limassol clean and healthy by including citizens in their joint efforts.
