It is an investment that will not cost anything to the Italian municipality
With Seabin, the device that eats plastic placed at the port of the Italian city of Riccione and immersed in water, it will be possible to recover over 500 kg of floating plastic waste per year, including microplastics up to 2 mm in diameter. The administration of the city of Riccione has approved the collaboration contract scheme, through a free loan, with "Lifegate Consulting and Media spa" to start the project called "Lifegate Plasticless" with the objective of contributing to the cleaning of the waters of the port.
The Seabin is equipped with a pump that vacuums and throws out water, creating a decompression effect at the entrance of the basket. It can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and also collect microplastics and microfibres that are invisible to the human eye, without interfering with port activities. The Seabin will start working in spring in the port of Riccione.
