Pilsen to showcase innovative technologies at three-day festival

Innovating Pilsen will take place during the first week of June

On 16 May, the Czech City of Pilsen reported that it will hold a three-day event to showcase innovative technologies during the first week of June. The “Innovating Pilsen” festival will take place on 2-4 June and present citizens with a rich programme.

Expanding on this, attendees will have the chance to see drones, tech gadgets, FPV drone races, electric cars, smartpens, and numerous robots. In fact, the municipality explains that a new robot (the Boston Dynamics Spot Robot) will be introduced to the public for the first time.

“Pilsen has a rich industrial tradition and I am pleased with the fact that the West Bohemian metropolis presents itself as a city of innovation, science, and research. The activities we organise together with the university and the private sector are at a high level and it is important for us to be able to present these innovative projects to the public. And this is exactly what the Innovating Pilsen festival will enable,” shared Mayor of Pilsen Pavel Šindelář.

The three-day event will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm on Cukrovarská Street. The festival’s organisers explain why they have chosen these days and times, sharing that they want students and people from the private sector to be able to visit the event during the weekdays as ‘school trips’ or as part of their jobs.

On Saturday, the organisers expect to welcome families with children. Considering that the festival’s attendees will be people of all ages, the organisers have prepared a programme that will interest both the adults and the young ones. In other words, it will hold lectures in addition to fun games, such as mini drone races.

Admission to the three-day festival will be free.
