Portimão council will be investing half a million euros in installing CCTV cameras throughout its popular nightlife spot and tourist resort Praia da Rocha. According to Portimão Mayor Isilda Gomes the council is currently in the final stages of planning the details. Mayor Gomes said the surveillance equipment would be installed in Praia da Rocha and along the main access routes into the city, and should be up and running by the end of 2019.

Portimão is a port city in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. It’s known for its old quarter, busy marina and proximity to many beaches. Praia da Rocha is an enjoyable, bustling and jovial resort town, which during the summer, is one of the liveliest towns of the Algarve coastline. Praia da Rocha is a town that is focused solely on two aspects: the beach and having fun. Therefore, the surveillance cameras are extremely important and the investment in them will make the residents and the guests of the area feel safer.
