The second edition of the event will include unique gaming and physical activities
This month, young citizens can participate in the second edition of the Summer of Esports. This event will take place in Rotterdam: a city that is rapidly gaining popularity as the capital of sports and gaming. During this year’s Summer of Esports, young gamers can take part in a variety of unique events as the Dutch city reports that participants will have access to never-before-seen gaming and physical activities.
The stadiums of Feyenoord, Sparta, and Excelsior will reportedly each have their own online FIFA tournament on Friday 13 August. These tournaments will allow young gamers to qualify for the “Esporter for a Day” experience which will take place on Friday 20 August. Participants will receive training and FIFA lessons as well as guidance from esporters, coaches, and YouTubers.
On Wednesday 25 August, the Summer of Esports will host yet another standout activity: the City Gaming House. This will be a “super exclusive gaming experience” which will take place in the large arena of Ahoy. The City Gaming House will allow young participants to play various games as duos, including Rocket League, FIFA, and JustDance! According to the City of Rotterdam, several celebrities will make an appearance during this day.
To reiterate, Esporter for a Day and City Gaming House are two standout activities. In other words, participants can still experience and engage in a variety of other events. More specifically, gaming and movement will be merged with Real Life Fortnite, GameGymWall, and FIFA skills game. In addition to this, there will also be a VR experience and a Drone Race.
On the Summer of Esports’ website, one can view the full programme and register for events that require qualification (such as online game tournaments).
