Salzburg, Austria, to test its first no-driver bus

Tests of the vehicle have already begun

Austrian authorities believe that the new concept of no-driver buses is of essential importance to the city’s urban development. Authorities also add that the new addition to the Salzburg transportation system is definitely not a threat to the existing vehicles such as train and other buses, but it is simply another option for commuters, report from TheLocal.

The technical characteristics of the new shuttle allow it to travel at 45km/h of maximum speed and carry 15 commuters. GPS and other devices help the vehicle get around the city.

However, this is still an initiative under development, to see how it will fit in the structure of transportation services in Salzburg.
