Come join the mass cleaning of the Kir lake – on foot or canoe
The city of Dijon organizes a mass cleaning of the beach at the Kir lake with the participation of the public. Ever since 2004 the zones around the lake turn into a beach for the summer season. For this purpose, the local authorities invite everyone who finds the place beautiful and attractive, to contribute to keeping it this way. The event also aims to mark the end of the beach season properly with a popular gathering and open-air sports activities.
Thus, those who are willing to get involved can join one of three teams – walking, jogging or kayaking. The canoe-kayaking team members are required to know how to swim, which must be certified with a document. Furthermore, it should be noted that the places are limited to 28 persons.
Upon arrival, all the tools needed will be provided to the participants, including security vests, gloves and trash bags. Other than that, volunteers are asked to wear appropriate clothing, including closed shoes and a hat, to wear sunscreen, among others.
The event will take place on 25th of August between 9:00 and 13:00. More information is available from the webpage of the City of Dijon.
