The construction of the 130 million euros multi-purpose hall in Bucharest starts summer 2020

The work on the project will begin immediately after the end of EURO 2020

The largest multi-purpose hall in Romania will be built in Bucharest. It will boast a staggering capacity of 20,000 seats. The huge building will be located between the National Arena and Mihai Flamaropol Ice Rink, Marius Coaja, informed a representative of the Bucharest General Council.

The project is called the Polyvalent Arena (Arena Polivalenta). The design and execution will be completed by the municipal company Metropolitan Building Trust. The project is estimated to cost around 130 million euros, VAT included. The work on the project will begin immediately after the end of EURO 2020, on July 12, and the multipurpose hall will be completed in 28 months.

According to the Ctiy Hall, they have a design and construction contract already in place for the development of the multipurpose hall. The technical project is being prepared and work will start immediately after the end of the international football event.

The largest multi-purpose hall in Romania

Several discussions have been held with each federation to take into consideration their wishes in regards to the design of the new multipurpose hall. As a result, the hall will have a total of 20,000 seats: 16,000 on fixed chairs and 4,000 on movable chairs. There will be an underground parking lot, with external parking spaces for coaches and six other sports fields, for each discipline.

The hall will also have 200 seats for disabled people, 4 conference rooms, a press centre, and an underground parking lot for 380 cars. It will also include 5 open-air sports fields. The Polyvalent Arena will host gymnastics, volleyball, tennis, wrestling, judo, table tennis, weightlifting, fencing, tusal, handball, basketball and boxing competitions, as well as other sports events. The venue will also be perfect for concerts and cultural events.
