The project will be implemented in areas with a high flow of tourists
The project presented by the City Council of Aveiro was approved by the Portuguese Tourism Board and will receive financial help of a non-refundable nature with an amount of 50 000 Euros. The total investment of the project "Wi-Fi Network in the City Center of Aveiro" will reach almost 65 000 Euros and an eligible amount. The diverse cultural program of Aveiro with its national impact allows justifying the relevance and importance of this investment.
In its first phase the project will be implemented in areas with a high flow of tourists. The covered areas are the CP station area, the Historic Center of Beira-Mar, which includes Aveiro Tourist Office; the Arte Nova Museum; the City Museum; the Municipal Library; the Old Captaincy Building; the adjacent to the urban canals of the Ria de Aveiro areas - from Rossio to the Cais da Fonte Nova, including the Manuel Firmino Market and some others. In a later stage of the project, Aveiro City Council intends to extend the Wi-Fi Network to be made available in more places around the city.
