All future residential buildings in Montpellier must feature works of art
And the value of the artworks can’t be lower than 1% of the price paid for the land lot
Thanks to an EU funded Connected Vehicles project
The networks and mobility research group of the Hagenberg campus of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, located in Wels, is shaping the future of transport as part of an EU financed Connected Vehicles project. The aim of the project is to make driving efficient, safe and environmentally friendly by discovering ways to predict traffic flows.
This Connected Vehicles technology allows automobiles to talk to each other and their surroundings. A lot of cars already have this type of smart functionality as part of their navigation systems. Through received traffic date it helps them with suggested alternative routes. The researchers of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria are trying to take that to the next level with models that forecast future traffic situations. The system suggests alternative routes based on predicted rather than current congestion. The European Union is financing the project with 635.120 euros, co-funding more than 80% to the cost of 793 900 euros.
